Frequently Asked Questions

Where is WJT located?

Our productions are presented at The Berney Theatre, located inside the Asper Jewish Community Campus at 123 Doncaster Street in Tuxedo. Our administrative offices and box office are located inside the same building.

Does WJT only produce Jewish-themed plays?

No, not exclusively. WJT’s mandate is two-fold: (1) to share Jewish stories and (2) to support Jewish playwrights. This means our productions may feature Jewish themes, feature Jewish performers and creatives, be written by Jewish playwrights, or all of the above. We’re committed to celebrating Jewish culture and voices in all their forms, and we welcome artists from all backgrounds to be part of bringing these stories to life!

Do you offer subscriptions or season passes?

Absolutely! You may purchase a season subscription through our website here OR by calling our box office at 204-477-7478.

Do you offer student, arts worker, or group discounts?

We offer a 20% discount for arts workers, and a group rate for groups of over 10. Unfortunately, we do not offer a student discount, but feel free to request our 30 Under 30 price as an alternative!

Is there parking available nearby?

Free parking is available at the ACC lot across the street. Please arrive early before all spots are taken!

Is the venue accessible for wheelchairs and mobility devices?

The Berney Theatre has a wheelchair ramp leading into the theatre, as well as two wheelchair seats available for each performance. We also offer the two adjacent seats for free for wheelchair-users who require a companion/caretaker!

How early should I arrive before a show?

On regular show nights, we recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before show time. This will guarantee you have enough time to find parking, collect your tickets from the box office, visit the concessions stand, and shmooze!

Are latecomers permitted once the show begins?

We urge you to try to make it on time for our shows as latecomers may distract our talented actors on stage and disrupt the audience’s viewing experience. Nevertheless, we would hate for you to miss the show and will permit you to walk in quietly.

Do you have a bar or concession stand?

You know it. Our concession stand and bar is available 1 hour before each performance and during intermissions. We offer wine, beer, pop drinks, juice, chocolate bars, and a special cocktail customized for each show!

Does WJT provide study guides or talkbacks for students?

WJT will provide all attending schools/classes with a show-focused study guide that will include show and character synopsis, suggested class activities, discussion questions, and other supporting material and images!

We typically schedule 2-3 talkback sessions throughout the run of each show. If you would like us to schedule a talkback for the performance your school is attending, please let us know!

How can I audition for WJT productions?

I’m a playwright. Can I submit my script to WJT?
