THE CUT

October 15-25, 2026

By Jordi Mand

When our deepest values clash, how can love survive?

Directed by Philip Akin

Sarah (Jewish, pregnant) and Andrew (not Jewish, not pregnant) are surrounded by half-unpacked boxes, baby furniture, and the anxious excitement of all that’s to come. What starts as a simple night of nesting, takes a sharp turn when one question cuts everything open: to circumcise or not to circumcise?

Raw, funny, uncomfortable, and achingly human, The Cut is a gripping look at why the hardest conversations are sometimes the most necessary.

Dan’s Note

“Jordi Mand is one of Canada’s most widely-celebrated contemporary Jewish playwrights. In The Cut, she delivers a razor-sharp look at interfaith relationships and tradition that feels both deeply personal and strikingly familiar.”
